How to use harmon.ie for email migration to SharePoint and Teams

While harmon.ie can be used to migrate large batches of emails to SharePoint and Teams, it’s important to note that it’s not designed specifically as a one-time migration tool.

Although there are no hard limits on the number of emails you can upload, you should be mindful of potential connectivity issues and server resource limits when transferring large batches.

Best practices include:

  1. Batch size: If users migrate emails to M365 with drag and drop, we recommend uploading between 100-200 emails in one batch. If there are large attachments, reduce this number even more. When using automation (see below), there’s no need to limit the number of uploaded emails.
  2. Outlook Version: For better results, use the 64-bit version of Outlook.
  3. Automation: Set up Outlook Rules or drop folders to automatically upload emails to SharePoint, Teams, or OneDrive. Email are uploaded one by one, so there’s no limitation to the number of uploaded emails.
  4. Scheduling: Schedule migrations outside of work hours to avoid slowing down the network or computer performance during normal business activities.
