Set Up Microsoft 365 Copilot in New harmon.ie
With Microsoft 365 Copilot in New harmon.ie, users ask a question in their own words to find files, and get a summary of a document or saved email without opening it. This article shows admins how to get their organization ready to use it.
Microsoft 365 Copilot in harmon.ie is a beta feature. As we continue to improve it, the way it works may change and you may run into the occasional issue.
Before you begin
Copilot runs on top of a working New harmon.ie deployment. If you’re new to New harmon.ie, deploy it first.
- Licenses: Each user needs a Microsoft 365 Copilot Business license. Users without one don’t see Copilot options, even when Copilot is turned on.
- Central configuration: Set up New harmon.ie’s central configuration, if you haven’t already, so you can access the Admin tab.
Set up Copilot
- Grant consent for Copilot summaries: A Microsoft 365 admin clicks the Copilot consent link and accepts the permissions for the organization. Until consent is granted, users can search with Copilot, but the Summarize action stays hidden.
- Turn on Copilot: In the Admin tab, under Microsoft 365 Copilot, switch Enable Copilot features for licensed users on. The setting is off by default.
What your users get
- Ask Copilot: Users ask a question in their own words and get the files that match its meaning, from across SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Summarize: Users get a Copilot summary of a document or saved email: a short overview, then the key points and action items.
