Learn the differences in search results between harmon.ie and SharePoint

Issue:

While both harmon.ie and SharePoint Web Interface use the SharePoint Indexing service, there may be instances when you find more search results using the SharePoint Web Interface than when using harmon.ie.

Cause:

In harmon.ie, search results do not contain links to .aspx or .html pages.

When searching through the SharePoint Web interface, the browser enables you to follow .aspx and .html links by clicking them.

When searching from harmon.ie, the displayed results contain only actual documents, items, document libraries and lists. This behavior is intended to ensure that all search results in harmon.ie are intuitively accessible to the end users, via the context menu, to enable them to manage metadata and version information, handle check-in and check-out operations, etc.
