We’re at the midpoint of another exciting year in the world of Information Technology. AI is everywhere but still in its infancy. Cybersecurity threats and data leaks continue causing havoc. And businesses around the globe are cutting costs and trying to squeeze even more efficiency and productivity out of their operations.
Luckily, harmon.ie has been hard at work improving and expanding our portfolio of solutions that address these core challenges. We’re helping our customers add more metadata to fuel enterprise AI applications and simplify searches. We’re mitigating the risk of data loss by making it easier than ever to comply with email retention and disposition rules. And we’re making millions of end users more collaborative while saving them hours every week.
So let’s take a brief tour of what we’ve been up to so far this year before peering into the near future to preview what’s next.
harmon.ie 365 gets a major update in version 10.5
The latest version of our flagship desktop app includes major security enhancements. We now support modern Microsoft 365 authentication as well as Microsoft Entra ID, which recently replaced Microsoft Azure Active Directory and is a cloud-based directory and identity management service. That makes it easier than ever to authenticate users and creates a seamless sign-on experience including multi-factor authentication.
harmon.ie 365 is also now integrated with Office 365 REST APIs ensuring better security using OAuth 2.0 and Role-based access control (RBAC) allowing for fine-grained access management for applications integrated with Entra ID. In addition it promises future compatibility as Microsoft continues evolving its suite of productivity applications.

The new harmon.ie preview keeps getting better
Is your organization testing the waters with the new Outlook? This completely rewritten version of this essential Microsoft app gives users a consistent experience whether they’re on Windows, Mac, mobile, or accessing Outlook via a web browser. While it’s still missing some key features, its cross-platform capabilities are intriguing.
As you put it through its paces, you can also bring harmon.ie along for the journey. Our new harmon.ie is a web add-in to Outlook that brings many of the features you know and love to this new platform. We’ve updated the preview twice this year, adding critical features our end users love.
These enhancements include the ability to save and upload multiple files at once, advanced search, document management, and an improved drag-and-drop experience. To see everything we’ve added, check out our What’s New page or try it out for yourself today (for free!)
Compelling case studies
Whether you’re looking for more reasons to give harmon.ie a try or are simply seeking inspiration on how to maximize the value and ROI of your harmon.ie deployment, our case studies display the wide array of use cases and benefits harmon.ie has to offer.
We wanted to highlight two new case studies you might not have seen yet. We learned how Moody Law Group is managing complex real estate deals directly in Outlook and how a large government agency created a secure, efficient integration between SharePoint and Outlook using harmon.ie.
Don’t forget to explore our library of other case studies spanning industries such as construction, manufacturing, not to mention financial services and government.
A webinar you won’t want to miss
If you didn’t join us for our webinar on Effective Project Management with Microsoft Teams, it’s ready for you to watch whenever you’d like. Learn how to structure your projects in Teams and take advantage of its powerful capabilities for keeping things on track and under budget.
We have plenty of other informative webinars for you to watch, including a deep dive into how Allianz is using our solution to make 180,000-plus employees more efficient and compliant and how Teams governance and business efficiency can coexist.
Farewell to an old friend
All these new developments also mean it’s time to say goodbye to one of our legacy offerings. As we embrace Outlook’s new web add-in architecture, we’ll be sunsetting the harmon.ie app for OWA later this year.
We encourage OWA users to migrate to the new harmon.ie for an enhanced end-user experience and superior security.
Stay tuned for more exciting developments
With the rest of the year ahead of us, we look forward to sharing more news and case studies from our partners while continuing to improve both the new harmon.ie and harmon.ie 365 apps.
