Can I attach SharePoint files to email without downloading them?

Yes. harmon.ie adds a sidebar inside Outlook that lets you browse your SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive libraries while composing an email. Select any file, click Share, and choose Add as attachment — the file lands in your email without downloading it to your desktop first.

What is the difference between attaching a file and sharing a link?

When you attach a file, a copy of the document is sent with the email. When you share a link, you send a URL pointing to the file in SharePoint — recipients always open the current version, and no copy is created. harmon.ie lets you choose either option from the same Share menu inside Outlook.

Does harmon.ie check if recipients have access to a shared file before I send?

When you share a SharePoint link using harmon.ie, Outlook checks whether each recipient has access to the file before the email is sent. This prevents permission errors after the email has already been delivered.

Which Outlook versions does harmon.ie support?

New harmon.ie supports Outlook for Windows (new and classic), Outlook for Mac, and Outlook on the Web. harmon.ie Classic supports Outlook for Windows (classic) only.

Attach SharePoint Files to Email from Outlook

No browser. No downloading. Just Outlook.

Attaching a SharePoint file to an email takes too many steps. Open a browser. Find the SharePoint site. Locate the file. Download it. Switch back to Outlook. Attach it. Most people skip the whole process and email an old copy from their desktop instead — so no one ends up with the right version.

How harmon.ie attaches SharePoint files to email — from inside Outlook

harmon.ie brings SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive into a sidebar inside Outlook. When you’re composing an email, your entire Microsoft 365 file library is right there — browse, click Share, and add the file or link to your message.

No switching apps, no downloading, no outdated copies.

Browse your entire Microsoft 365 library without leaving Outlook

The harmon.ie panel shows your SharePoint libraries, Teams channels, and OneDrive folders right alongside your compose window. Find any file without opening a browser or a second window.

Add as attachment in one click

Hover over the file in the sidebar, and click Add as attachment. It lands in your email instantly, no saving it to your desktop first.

Share as a SharePoint link instead

Click Add as link to send a live SharePoint URL rather than a file copy. The recipient opens the latest version every time, not a snapshot from three revisions ago.

Drag to attach

Drag a file onto the drop area that appears at the top of the harmon.ie sidebar, then drop it on Add as file or Add as attachment. The file is instantly added to your email.

Attach or share multiple files at once

Select several files in the sidebar and add them all as attachments or links in one action. No repeating the process file by file.

Secure and certified

No external servers. Your content never leaves your environment.
