Working with SharePoint Note Boards
This feature applies to SharePoint 2010.
The SharePoint Note Board is a place where users can share information and leave comments about documents, folders, libraries, and subsites.
Note: Writing to the Note Board of a person is not supported in this version of harmon.ie.
To view a Note Board:
To view the Note Board of a SharePoint document, folder, library, or subsite, right-click the SharePoint item in the document list, and select Note Board.
The Note Board pane opens at the bottom of the harmon.ie sidebar, where you can see the last 25 notes, post a new note, edit, or delete your notes.
Notes:
- When the Note Board pane is open and you select another SharePoint item from the document list, the notes for this item are automatically shown in the Note Board pane.
- To view more than the last 25 notes, open the SharePoint Note Board Web page: right-click the SharePoint location in the status pane, and select Open in Browser. In the Web page, select Tags & Notes.
To write to the SharePoint Note Board:
To post a new note to the SharePoint Note Board:
- View the Note Board pane of the SharePoint item.
- Write your note in the text box and select Post.
To edit a note from the Note Board:
You can edit your posted notes.
To edit a note from the SharePoint Note Board:
- View the Note Board pane of the SharePoint item.
- Locate the note and click the Edit Note icon ().
- Update your note in the text box and select Post.
To delete a note from the Note Board:
You can delete your posted notes.
To delete a note from the SharePoint Note Board:
- View the Note Board pane of the SharePoint item.
- Locate the note and click the Delete Note icon ().
