Working with email

To view an email message saved on SharePoint:

  • Tap the email message to launch the open menu, and then tap View Message. If the default action was changed to opening the Document Info panel, tap Open ().
  • The message opens in an internal viewer, showing message headers, body, and attachments.
  • Tap Expand () to view the message body in full screen.
  • Tap the Actions menu () > To Top () / To Bottom () to jump to the message beginning / end.
  • If the message contains attachments, the number of attached files is written next to the attachment icon (). Tap the attachment icon to jump to the attachments. Tap an attachment to view it.
  • If the message contains Cc or Bcc recipients, a more... link appears. Tap it to view the Cc and Bcc recipients.
    Note: Bcc recipients are available only if your SharePoint administrator configured to save them on SharePoint.
  • Tap the Close icon () to close the message, or the Back icon () to return to the Document Info panel.

Note:

  • Viewing messages in an internal viewer applies for .msg files and .eml files.
  • Some advanced message styles (for example, a colored background) show only when expanding the message.

Email message internal viewer

To send a SharePoint document/item by email:

Note: When you send an email while in offline mode, the email is saved in the device's mail app and is only sent when you next go online.

    Sending SharePoint documents by email
  1. View document information.
    - or -
    Find the required document, and swipe its name.
    - or -
    Find the required list item information.
  2. If you are viewing the document/list item information, tap the Actions menu ().
  3. Tap Send Email ().
  4. This step is relevant for documents only.
    Tap Send as Link to send a link to the SharePoint document, or Send as Attachment to send the document as a physical attachment.

    Note: SharePoint document links are only available to recipients that have access to the SharePoint library, and have sufficient permissions to view the document.

  5. A new email message is opened with the SharePoint document/list or document link.

To send a link to a document/list or folder:

  1. Find the required document/list or folder, and swipe its name.
  2. Tap Send Email ().
  3. In the Send Email panel, select the app from which you want to send the email.
  4. A new email message is opened with the SharePoint link.

To send multiple documents/items as links or attachments:

  1. Tap the Actions menu () > Select ().
    - or -
    Tap and hold the first document/item you wish to send.
  2. A bar appears saying x Item Selected. Tap each document/item you want to select. You can navigate to other locations and select documents/items there.
    Note: In List views, a check mark is shown to the right of each selected document. In Grid views (tablets only), selected documents are colored.
  3. When finished, tap the Send icon ().
  4. Tap Send as Links or Send as Attachments (available for documents only).
  5. A new email message is opened with the SharePoint documents/items as links or attachments.
