SharePoint 2010 features

harmon.ie for SharePoint supports the following new SharePoint 2010 features:

  • Managed metadata fields. harmon.ie supports the new Managed Metadata column type. You can view and edit columns of this type from the Properties window.
  • Tag filter. The tag filter can be used to filter the SharePoint documents list by any tag defined in the enterprise keywords field, or in any managed terms field. To learn more, read Filter the document list by tags.
  • Ratings. To learn how to view and edit the rating of a SharePoint document, read Document rating. Editing rating is an Enterprise Edition feature.
  • Note Boards. To learn how to view and write comments to the Note Board of a document or library, read SharePoint Note Boards. Enterprise Edition only.
  • Server side validation. When column validation is defined in the document library, you must enter valid values for all fields. Otherwise, you will not be able to check in the file. For more information, read Uploading documents to SharePoint.
  • Open supported documents in Office Web Apps. Configure to open supported documents in Office Web Apps. Enterprise Edition only.
  • Update profile status. Update your colleagues regarding what you are working on.
  • Receive SharePoint colleagues updates. Stay up-to-date with your colleagues.
  • Document sets are indicated with this icon: Document set icon.
    Limitation: Document sets can be created from the harmon.ie toolbar, but they look and behave as a folder associated with a document set content type.
  • Locked files are indicated with this icon: Locked file icon.
