Following changes in SharePoint document libraries and folders
Which libraries & folders can be followed?
You can follow the changes made in SharePoint libraries and folders. Libraries or folders need to be in the favorites list to be followed.

- Updating a SharePoint document.
How can I follow libraries & folders?
To follow a SharePoint library or folder, do one of the following:
- Add the location to the favorites list, and check Follow library / folder updates in the Add Favorite dialog.
- Edit a favorite location and check Follow library / folder updates.

Navigate to a favorite location, and then open the Favorites icon menu and select Follow library / folder updates.

Open the People tab > Updates view, click the Documents filter arrow and select Follow other favorites.

How can I see the changes?
To view the SharePoint documents updates, open the People tab > Updates view. You can filter the list to view only document updates, or only new / updated documents.
Is following libraries & folders recursive?
Depends on your settings. When you choose to follow a library or a folder, check Follow subfolders to follow subfolders as well. Edit a favorite location to change the recursive setting.
How can I remove a library or a folder from the updates list?
To permanently unfollow a SharePoint library or folder, do one of the following:
- Edit a favorite location and check Unfollow library / folder updates.

Navigate to a favorite location, and then open the Favorites icon menu (
) and select Unfollow library / folder updates.
To temporarily unfollow a SharePoint library or folder:
- Go to the People tab > Updates.

Select the Hide document updates icon (
) and toggle the location out, or hide all document updates off by toggling the Hide document updates icon out.
