They all allow you to locate, share, and work on your documents quickly and easily, directly from your e-mail.
harmon.ie shares linked Google documents with recipients as you send them. Recipients who don’t have a Google Account are prompted to create an account to access the documents.
harmon.ie is compatible with a large variety of Outlook add-ins. If however, you discover compatibility issues with other add-ins, report them using the
forum.
harmon.ie currently supports SharePoint and Google Docs exclusively. If you would like support for additional systems, send us your
feedback.
harmon.ie is an Outlook sidebar that gives you full-featured access to documents, spreadsheets, and presentations stored on Google Docs. The sidebar enables you to share Google documents, from the convenience of your email. Here are the

harmon.ie for SharePoint is an Outlook® or Lotus Notes® sidebar that brings SharePoint to every business user by providing easy, full-featured access to SharePoint from the convenience of the email client.
harmon.ie, previously known as Mainsoft, has been delivering cross-platform enterprise solutions since 1993. It is our vision that enterprises should be free to pick and choose collaboration offerings from multiple platform vendors such as Google, Microsoft and Lotus; no matter what products are selected, business users must attain a harmonious user experience. As email evolves into 'social email,' harmon.ie will enable the email client to become a more powerful collaboration console. By reducing the number of collaboration interfaces, harmon.ie will continue to minimize context switching, thereby making business users more productive.
harmon.ie is a client-side application that uses Web Services and open protocols to communicate with document servers, such as SharePoint and Google Docs. For SharePoint, harmon.ie uses the same standard Microsoft SharePoint Web Services and FrontPage APIs used by Office applications. For Google Docs, harmon.ie uses the Google Documents List Data API.
With the Free Edition of harmon.ie for SharePoint and harmon.ie for Google Docs, each individual needs to download and install the software separately.
For those who want to use harmon.ie at the group or organizational level, Enterprise editions are available. Enterprise editions provide centralized deployment and provisioning, as well as additional social features, for 'collaborating in context' with colleagues.
harmon.ie supports Outlook 2010 and 2007 (SP2 is recommended). You’ll also need a Google Docs account. If you don’t have one, harmon.ie will direct you to Google’s sign-up page, where you can create an account.
harmon.ie for SharePoint supports Outlook 2010 and 2007 (SP2 is recommended).
In addition, harmon.ie for SharePoint supports Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007, Windows SharePoint Services (WSS 3.0), and any cloud-based solution running any of these SharePoint versions, such as SharePoint Online (part of the Microsoft BPOS suite).
Mail recipients do not need harmon.ie to open document links. For Google documents, recipients click the document link in the message to open the file in a browser. For SharePoint documents, recipients need access to the relevant SharePoint site in order to view the file.
Google does not currently provide programmatic access to upload all file types to Google Docs. When this is available, it will be supported in harmon.ie.
Google Docs uses different links to the same shared document, depending on whether you are accessing it from a free Google account or a paid Google Apps account. If you send a document link to someone outside your domain, the link is automatically modified so that the recipient can open it from their email. This makes the link in your Sent Items folder work for the recipient, but not for you. You can still see and access your document from the sidebar and from Google Docs on the web.
Yes, harmon.ie for SharePoint provides full access to all hosted SharePoint services.

To send a document as an attachment, hold down the Alt key while dragging the document from the sidebar to the email message. To send attachments as the default behavior for drag-and-drop operations, change this setting in the harmon.ie Options menu, at the top of the sidebar.
Simply start typing the document title or a string that you know exists inside the document or title. The list of available documents displays only those files that match your search term.

harmon.ie is a client side application. If the SharePoint server is inside your company intranet, requests are sent inside the intranet.
If SharePoint is configured to use SSL (https), the content is encrypted when it is being sent to SharePoint.
harmon.ie uses the standard web services API provided by Microsoft to interact with SharePoint. User permissions are respected by the API calls, which means that users can only view SharePoint content for which they have permissions.
