ANI has been using SharePoint since 2006. Beginning with Office SharePoint Server 2007, ANI began adding enterprise content for various departments to SharePoint, and in 2011, ANI will expand this effort in a significant way with their Engineering department.
ANI is using harmon.ie for SharePoint to integrate SharePoint with Outlook 2010 to enable people to store emails and voicemails alongside the documents they are working with. harmon.ie will allow ANI to treat email and email attachments the same way other enterprise content is treated, with consistent routing, access and search capabilities.
Initially, a handful of people at all levels of the organization downloaded harmon.ie for SharePoint, to test the product. ANI enrolled in harmon.ie's Enterprise Partner Program and upgraded to harmon.ie for SharePoint Enterprise in order to access enterprise features such as centralized management and deployment as well as the facility to map email headers automatically to SharePoint columns.
